A few days ago, the « Pavillon Bleu » label was awarded to the cleanest beaches and ports of France. Beaches around Marseille like Fos-sur-Mer, Martigues, Port de Bouc, and Sausset-les-Pins received this label.

For 30 years, this label of the French Foundation of Environmental Education in Europe, has rewarded the municipalities for their commitment to their water and waste management, and their environmental education.
The PACA region (Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur) placed second after Languedoc-Roussillon.

The 2015 Pavillon bleu labelled beaches

  • Two beaches at Fos sur Mer: Cavaou and Grande Plage
  • Four beaches at Martigues: Laurons, Carro, the Verdon’ Beaches and Sainte-Croix-la-Saulce’ Beaches
  • One beach at Port de Bouc: Bottai
  • And one beach at Sausset-les-Pins: Corniche

Pavillon bleu

The beaches at Estaque, Catalans, Prophète, Prado and Pointe-Rouge provide sport activities, relaxation under private sunshades, food and beverage service on terraces and festive evenings.
