Marseille, a must-see destination for business tourism

More than 660 million investments in recent years have enabled Marseille to become the 2nd convention city in France and the 74th on the international scale (when it was ranked 142nd in 2012!).

ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association), a reference in international rankings, has just published the results for the year 2013. Being European Capital of Culture in 2013 has allowed the city to draw more events (457 in 2013 as compared with 331 in 2012) and delegate days (327,000 in 2013 as compared with 283,000 in 2012).
“Positionning Marseille amongst the convention cities is a strong political will and a long-term strategy that led the city to make it to the ‘big league’.”, says Maxime Tissot, Director of Marseille Congress Convention Bureau.
Dominique Vlasto, Deputy Mayor in charge of tourism and conventions, declares “We must all continue this joint work and fully enjoy the « after » 2013 which represented a great boost for the tourism and economic activity of Marseille.”
Offering easy access, a significant collection of hotels and a wide and full range selection of convention centres and event venues, Marseille meets all expectations!
