The Arches of the Major

Abandoned for 50 years, the Halles opened on August 2nd (750 m² food market), under stone arches that were built in 1852. It’s located in the square of Cathédrale de la Major.

Occupied by gourmet food stands (oyster vendors, pork butchers, deli’s, cheese makers, fishmongers, wine merchants, and more), the Halls offer tastings to excite the all senses.
The Halls is an ideal location for private and prestigious events offering a relaxing and unique setting in Marseille.

Encompassing nearly 7,200 m², forty businesses will open in this magnificent site.
Below the arches, a new promenade will become a site dedicated to leisure, culture and fine restaurants, from the Panier (Old Marseille) to MuCEM.
Near MuCEM, Fort St Jean, halfway between rue de la République and the “Terrasses du Port”, the arches are excellently located at an ideal site in the center of Euroméditerrannée.

The growing dynamism of this district makes it a place to be!
