The Toyoko Inn in Marseille: for or against?

[id]

The Toyoko Inn is a two-star Japanese hotel (equivalent to the Ibis Hotel chain), has finally opened its doors in the Saint-Charles district, after months of delay, due in particular to French standards which were not respected.

Marseille is the second hotel in Europe of the Japanese chain Toyoko. After Frankfurt in Germany, the hotel group now owns more than 200 hotels and is on the offensive in Europe.
The building is seven storeys with 267 identical rooms of 16 sq.m (one bathroom with bathtub, one washbasin and a Japanese toilet). The hotel is mainly intended for Japanese and foreign tourists, and also for business travellers. It has two meeting rooms, a restaurant that can accommodate up to 350 people, a bar and a Japanese garden.

The hotel chain plans to open a second establishment, also in the Euroméditerranée district, because of its low rates and quality services, the Toyoko Inn wishes to attract many tourists and professionals.
However, the Saint-Charles district is not very attractive, even if the objective is to galvanize this area and to make it more pedestrian-friendly. First-time guests may be somewhat perplexed about the view offered by some rooms!
